Lorcana is entering a wonderful phase of maturity. After the initial waves of discovery, the game has found its footing; now, what we’re looking for are solid reasons to fine-tune our decks and gather weekly for a great match. The arrival of Hyperia City addresses this very need for balance and well-conceived renewal.
Let’s take a look at what this new set—launching in early access on October 16—has in store for us.

Ink Drops
The major innovation in this—already the 14th—edition is the new "Ink Drops" mechanic. It is an addition that, in my view, finally brings flexibility to certain colors that desperately needed it for resource management. Ink Drops are temporary ink tokens that you can use the moment they appear or stockpile to make a future turn more impactful.
Ink Drops can help you adjust a somewhat rigid mana curve or make up for an ink shortage at a crucial moment. Several cards in Hyperia City will be able to take direct advantage of Ink Drops—such as Madam Mim, who lets you draw two cards if you used an Ink Drop to play her.
Holding tokens in reserve also adds an extra layer of decision-making, enriching tactical choices during every phase of the game. It’s the kind of seamless adjustment that offers more options for deck building and creates greater possibilities for maintaining a strong play curve and tempo.

New Worlds in the Spotlight!
The integration of Disney franchises also enriches the visual identity and collecting appeal of Hyperia City. This is one of Lorcana’s greatest strengths: combining beautifully illustrated cards with the satisfaction of adding iconic new characters from Disney’s vast portfolio. This time, the new set brings us iconic characters from *Coco* and *Turning Red*!
