Hi everyone!
This Sunday was the RCQ Sealed Deck at F2F. There were 19 of us trying our luck for one of the four invitations to the Vancouver Regional Championship this winter.
Although I hadn't played Edge of Eternities cards before this morning, things started well with a good pool of cards containing several rares and good uncommons in the white-black range.
I won my first round against a white-blue-black Artifact deck in two games pretty quickly, which gave me a lot of confidence for the rest of the day.
Then, another victory, this time against a blue-black-red Artifact deck. The match was extremely close, and I was very unlucky in several ways. Luckily for me, my opponent made several very costly mistakes that allowed me to come back and ultimately win the match. However, it was in the third round that I lost in three games in a very close match against a white-green deck with a +1/+1 counter theme. One win away from securing my spot in the Top 8, I had to win the next one.
For the fourth round, I once again had a rather close match against a blue-red deck that seemed to consist almost entirely of Removals. It was a long game, but I did it! So I was able to play a draw in the fifth round and grab a little lunch before the Top 8 draft.
During the draft, I think I did pretty well. I had read a quick guide to EOE Limited while eating a slice of round 5 pizza, so I had everything I needed to perform... or so I thought. I ended up with a blue-red-green deck that seemed very good. Good creatures in blue and green, then good Removals and cards that provide Card Advantage. Unfortunately, I lost in the quarterfinals, just one game away from qualifying. Despite winning the first game against a white-blue Second Spell deck, I ultimately lost the third game after drawing thirteen lands. Sometimes, there's nothing you can do 😝
However, it was a great tournament day with a very relaxed atmosphere, and I had a lot of fun. As always, I'd like to take the time to thank Cartes Léo and the Team Cartes L team for their support. I'd also like to congratulate Alex, my teammate, who defeated all the opposition at Boutique Awesome on Saturday. Well done, Alex 👏
Have a great week, everyone! 😃
